It is no surprise that the Kiwanis Enterprise Centre would be at the heart of a volunteer centre project. Years of assisting new businesses and a passion for social entrepreneurship have left them uniquely well suited to foster such an endeavour. With the assistance of the "What's Cooking?" Program, "E-Growth" and the many and varied skills of the Enterprise Centre staff, Volunteer Dawson Creek is off to a solid and well plotted start.

The Centre looks forward to helping both potential volunteers and the agencies that depend upon them by following our four "cornerstones"

1. Promoting and facilitating volunteerism in our community.
2. Providing resources on volunteerism.
3. Offering education and training on volunteerism issues.
4. Volunteer opportunity referrals.

We help volunteers find opportunities and agencies locate volunteers. We can also help both volunteers and agencies access up to date skills training in:
• Popular computer software
• Website design
• Internet basics
• Business Planning

We've already started compiling a resource library, with excellent information on many aspects of volunteerism. We are always happy to hear from volunteers and agencies about issues that effect them, plans for future volunteer events or stories of past volunteering experiences.
