The South Peace Hospice Palliative Care Society is looking for compassionate individuals to work with terminally ill persons and their families as palliative volunteers. Volunteers are also needed to assist with educational and fundraising events. Training is provided. The South Peace Building Learning Together Committee is in need of volunteers for their “Words on Wheels” Bus. The Friends of the Library require assistance on an ongoing basis with serving beverages and goodies at the Senior's Tea. Fringe benefits of this position are delicious home baked snacks! Circle of Friends are looking for volunteers interested in ongoing opportunities to visit seniors in their homes or take them shopping or to appointments. They provide a short term loans of various medical equipment to local patients and surgeons. Volunteer time commitment is minimal, usually a shift of 2 hours a month. Call 784-7393. They are looking for mature, serious volunteers to train as ground search & rescue members. They provide extensive outdoor training skills that enable teams to aid in missing persons searches and emergency management situations.
